Signature Drink: What Angels Drink

Named after a line by Mark Twain, who said of watermelon in the summer “I imagine it’s what angels eat,” this clever mixture of watermelon and kaffir lime ice cubes, cointreau, orange bitters and sparkling wine will make guests swoon.  

INGREDIENTS:
—3 watermelon ice cubes*
—.5 oz. Cointreau
—3 dashes of orange bitters
—2.5 oz. Moscato d’Asti 
—2.5 oz. sparkling wine
—.75 oz. lime juice

Jessika Alexander Earns CTE Designation

Jessika Alexander of Visit Houston has earned her Certified Tourism Executive designation from the Travel and Tourism College offered by the Texas Travel Industry Association.

New Art Installations at George R. Brown Convention Center

Houston First has unveiled two key art installations—“Soaring in the Clouds” by artist Ed Wilson and “Wings over Water” by Joe O’Connell and Creative Machines—as a part of the Houston Infusion initiative. The “Soaring in the Clouds” installation is suspended from the ceiling of the grand lobby in the George R. Brown Convention Center and features approximately 300 elements that resemble flocks of birds in flight. “Wings over Water” is a kinetic sculpture that moves as visitors enter the George R. Brown Convention Center Plaza in downtown Houston.
