Ashley White was recently hired as Brand Development Manager at Visit The Woodlands.
What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as Brand Development Manager?
Personally, I’m excited about the opportunity our team has here at Visit The Woodlands. We’re in a unique position to expand our position in the marketplace. I’m looking forward to helping our team take our destination to the next level through new sales incentives and technology initiatives while continuing to provide meeting planners and visitors with authentic experiences and impeccable service. Plus, I can’t wait to showcase The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and Market Street shopping on press trips.
How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?
I’ve been fortunate to spend the past 10 years growing my knowledge of the travel and tourism industry through education and hands-on experience. During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to take the lead on multiple projects and collaborate with many industry leaders. I’m confident my experience will give me the tools necessary to make an impact with Visit The Woodlands.
How did you get into the industry?
Social media actually brought me into the hospitality industry. Shortly after college, I was contacted through Myspace by one of my classmate’s relatives about a job opening at the Beaumont CVB. At the time, I’m pretty sure I didn’t even know the hospitality industry existed; but I applied for the job & haven’t looked back. I can genuinely say after being in the industry for 10 years, I still love my job!
What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?
I would like to help The Woodlands expand its position as a leader in the industry. We’re fortunate that most people love our destination. They say it’s beautiful, has great food and is perfect for shopping. But, there’s so much more to us & that’s the message we hope to share. We know The Woodlands is a great place to live. We want people to know it’s also a great place to visit and a hold a meeting.
What do you enjoy most about the industry?
To me, the hospitality industry is like family. I’ve come to know people, all across the United States, who share the same passion I do – passion for their communities and for making a difference. I love that I can call on any number of people at any given time & know they’re willing to open their playbook and share their strategies and experience.
