The Hotel Van Zandt offers guests a uniquely Austin experience

The Hotel Van Zandt provides visitors a perfect balance between surprise and delight with its spin on an authentic Austin experience. The city of Austin is renowned for its outstanding live music and arts scene and the décor of the Hotel Van Zandt draws on that inspiration. In fact, the hotel is named after the highly regarded Texas-born musician, Townes Van Zandt. 

19th Century Industrialism Meets Texas Grandeur at Hotel Emma

Once a 19th century brewhouse, Hotel Emma in now a flagship for The Pearl’s culinary and cultural community. The hotel features many artifacts that emphasize the building’s industrial past, including a vintage compressor in the lobby, chandeliers fashioned from labeling equipment and solid bronze gadgets repurposed as light fixtures. The hotel includes 146 guest rooms and seven top-floor suites.


Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa has announced plans for a $150 million renovation and expansion, set to complete mid 2019. The renovation will reinforce Omni Barton Creek's position as the No. 1 golf resort in Texas. The expansion will be led by The Beck Group, a design-build firm, beginning November 13, 2017. The renovated and expanded property will have 493 rooms.

New Hotel Anchors Mixed-use Development in Houston

The nation-wide trend of anchoring mixed-use developments with hotels is growing and evolving and this new upscale Houston hotel is no exception.

The upscale Hotel Alessandra in Downtown Houston features 223-guestrooms and more than 5,000 square feet of event space. The 20-story hotel, which opened October 1, 2017, anchors the three-block-long GreenStreet mixed-use development. The Hotel Alessandra is one of The Valencia Group’s newest properties and the flagship of its new luxury brand.

backYARD at Waller Creek joins Austin’s Outdoor Venue Scene

backYARD at Waller Creek is Austin’s newest restaurant, bar and outdoor venue in downtown. The concept, which had a soft opening during SXSW 2017, is new to the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol. The backYARD offers American cuisine with a Texas twist and cocktails using house-infused spirits, and has a spacious outdoor space perfect for events.
