The U.S. News & World Report magazine released its Best Hotel Rankings for 2018 and The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas was named #1 hotel in Dallas and in Texas overall. The highly-respected organization ranked more than 24,000 hotels across the USA, Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, and Europe.

The U.S. News & World Report identifies the best luxury hotels based on the aggregate opinion of published travel experts and on overall customer satisfaction. Guests of The Ritz-Carlton have said that “the rooms alone are worth The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas’ high price tag”. In addition, the hotel’s adjoining Fearing’s Restaurant, noted that “visitors said that the eatery deserves its numerous accolades thanks to its gourmet American cuisine.” The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas was announced as the recipient of a 2018 AAA Five Diamond ranking. As well as The Ritz-Carlton is the only AAA Five Diamond hotel in the Dallas/ Forth Worth area and in Texas overall.

The City of Houston set another record year in convention sales. Visit Houston announced that for the third straight year, a large number of room nights, tied to future conventions, were booked in 2017.

Houston First, which operates in partnership with the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau under the brand name “Visit Houston,” is responsible for bringing conventions and tourism to the city.


The Statler, a historic Dallas hotel, has announced Adrian Nieto will join their team as the director of sales.

Nieto looks forward to being part of the newest chapter of the Statler Hotel’s story.

“There are over 60 years of wonderful stories, and memorabilia in and around the building. The opportunity to be an ambassador of The Statler Dallas, and share this wealth of information, is exciting,” said Nieto.

Nieto has the opportunity to move The Statler, and the hotel industry, forward.


Cambria Dallas Downtown partially opened in late 2017, and will now be completely open on March 1st. The new modern hotel is located in the iconic Tower Petroleum Building. John Kirtland, a Dallas-based real estate developer saw potential in the vintage building that was originally built in 1931. Embracing the building’s history, Kirtland purchased the Tower Petroleum building and neighboring Corrigan Tower.
