Within its first three months since opening, The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston has received a Forbes Five Star rating for its essential treatments, first-class service and lavish offerings. It is the only Texas spa rated Five Stars by Forbes and one of 31 in the nation.

“Being the only Forbes Five Star spa in the state is an incredible honor,” says Daisy Tepper, apa director at The Post Oak Hotel. “Tilman had a boundless vision for this spa and our team worked hard to deliver an over-the-top wellness menu with revolutionary experiences that reflected the diverse cultures of Houston.”

The 20,000-square-foot spa offers body scrubs, facial treatments, rituals, massages and exclusive products from Cinq Mondes, Aromatherapy Associates of London and Jacqueline Piotaz. They also offer the latest innovations in skincare techniques including the six-in-one In-Skin facial system that was only available in Los Angeles until now.

The Spa has received glowing reviews from Houstonians and hotel guests for its couple’s suite with en-suite bathtubs and showers, tranquility pools with body-contouring hot stoned daybeds, aromatherapy-infused steam rooms, multi-sensory thermal showers, quiet lounges with zero gravity chairs and more.

Lake Austin Spa Resort is recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as the #2 Destination Spa Resort in the world and #1 Destination Spa Resort in the U.S. in the 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards. Adjacent from a nature preserve, the property is fixed among the Texas Hill Country. Located just outside of Austin with easy accessibility by water taxi or car, the resort is the only waterfront destination spa in the world.

The Austin Marriott Downtown is raising a glass to the completion of its structural framework, literally. Instead of raising the “final beam,” the hotel held a “topping-off” event where guests watched a large crane raise three Garrison Brothers bourbon barrels onto the hotel’s rooftop, in collaboration with local spirit masters Garrison Brothers Distillery.
