Hotel Van Zandt in Austin is making its mark. The hotel is Austin’s first Kimpton property, exhibiting the kind of spacious, music-centric space one might expect in this taste-making city. The hotel, which recently opened in Austin’s Rainey Street Historic District, focuses on authenticity, local sourcing and the spirit of travel through its design, amenities and expert services. In addition, Hotel Van Zandt features 12,000 square feet of event and meeting space, capable of accommodating up to 500 people.
Planning a meeting for 2018? It’s not to early to start thinking about the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, which just announced a $120 million plan to expand its meeting space and number of guest rooms.
The expansion will make Grapevine’s Gaylord Texan Resort the second largest non-gaming convention center hotel in the United States, and the largest resort convention hotel in Texas.

One of downtown Dallas’ Main Stree skyscrapers has been re-envisioned as a luxury hotel. The building at One Main Place is now the Westin Dallas Downtown and includes 326 guest rooms on 13 of the 34 floors. The hotel began taking reservations in this month.
The historic St. Anthony hotel in downtown San Antonio has announced the completion of a meticulous renovation of the 106 year-old-property. The $24 million project, launched in May 2013, included the addition of 277 spacious guestrooms. The sixth floor rooftop pool was expanded and the 8,000-square-foot rooftop pool-deck space was refurbished. A resurfacing of the 10th floor terrace involved replacing gravel flooring with a deck of Brazilian hardwood.
