• Atlantic City Is Taking Meetings 'To the Next Level'

Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission had a fantastic year in 2015.

Just some of their accomplishments include booking two major industry shows—Meetings Professionals International and TEAMS, both who will host their 2016 events in Atlantic City.

“I am very pleased with the accomplishments that Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission have achieved in a short amount of time,” says Jim Wood, president/CEO, Meet AC. “The meeting and convention industry is vital and helps support the overall tourism industry in Atlantic City.”

In 2015, future hotel room night bookings are projected to be up 34 percent from last year; in just two years hotel room night bookings have doubled.

Future convention delegate spending is up 31 percent from 2014 and projected delegate spending is up 70 percent over the past two years. The total Meet AC projected production year end will consist of 228,986 room nights and delegate spending will reach up to $185,639,748. In addition, for every $1 of luxury tax Meet AC invested in 2015, it’s returning $23 back to our local economy.

“While serving as chairman of Meet AC, I am pleased with the growth and progress the Meet AC team has attained,” says Jeff Albrecht, general manager, Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel and Meet AC chairman. “Atlantic City is taking meetings and conventions to the next level.”

The InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel’s newest attraction known as The Texas Experience is an interactive culinary experience in which guests can experience the flavors and cooking techniques of Texas firsthand. 

 

Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt is now incorporating fun musical features into its meetings. Programs for groups include “Soundtracked,” which has a playlist customized by the music and social programming director for a group’s meeting space and “Anthem” where groups create a new company theme song with percussion instruments.
