Recently, I spent 48 hours hiking through backcountry with nothing but a 28-pound pack and the company of five other hikers – only one of whom I’d ever met before. Let me tell you, there is nothing like pushing through exhaustion to build a sense of camaraderie. I made friends in the small victories: reaching the top of a bluff, scaling down a boulder, building a fire.
By the time we reached the end of the trail, I knew these were people I could count on. And I knew something else, too. There is something incredibly powerful about outdoor teambuilding.
So when I learned about a new, on-property teambuilding activity at La Toretta Lake Resort and Spa, I knew I needed to share the news. The resort, situated on Lake Conroe just northwest of Houston, recently added year-round kayaking to its collection of teambuilding activities.
The resort’s kayak launch is located on the property near the conference center, so there’s no need to build travel time or transportation into the itinerary.
