1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as General Manager?

A New Way to Brand Business Meetings at the Omni Dallas Hotel

A few days ago, the Omni Dallas Hotel unveiled its “Book a Meeting, Brand the Dallas Skyline” offer. For every meeting or event booked, the hotel will brand the iconic downtown Dallas skyline with the company’s logo or message.

Pinstack Announces Third North Texas Location

This fall, Allen, Texas, will have the third location of Pinstack—a 46,000-square-foot venue that will have 26 bowling lanes with lane-side food and beverage service.

The new location will offer a two-level laser tag arena, a rock-climbing wall and high-ropes court suspended 20 feet above hundreds of video games and simulators. There also will be a full-service restaurant and bar with a private dining area. The venue will have space for more than 1,400 people.

J. Scott Walsh Celebrates Big Milestone

J. Scott Catering has an exciting celebration ahead—the full-service, Philadelphia-based caterer is turning 20 years old!

J. Scott Walsh, founder and president of the company, and a culinary arts graduate of Paul Smith’s College, started his catering career in his parent’s home. Then, in 1996, he opened a brick-and-mortar facility in the Malvern Shopping Center; in 2004, he moved the company to its current, 10,000-square foot location.

New Board of Directors President for VFTCB

The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board recently announced the appointment of Richard J. Odorisio to the president of the CVB’s Board of Directors.

Odorisio, currently the COO of the Valley Forge Hotel Management Association, is replacing Former president Michael Bowman, who is now the VFTCB president.

Leah Neumann was recently hired as the catering and delivery director for FIG & OLIVE, a restaurant with eight locations across the country. Neumann is working to expand the brand’s catering opportunities in California.

Venue Report: Lancaster Arts Hotel

If you read hotel marketing materials as much as I do, you’ll realize that many like to say they “feel just like home.” I’ve always taken issue with that – not because I don’t love my own home – but because when I travel I want my hotel to be different. I want to experience something unique and memorable. Comfortable, yes, but exactly like what I have at home…no thanks.
