Tequila probably. Whiskey definitely. Gin, however, might not be the first thing some people think of when they think of favored Texas spirits. But those people would be wrong—particularly after paying a visit to Seersucker Distillery in San Antonio. Here, the gin is slow-distilled in “Betty”—a handhammered copper pot still—and blended with all-natural botanicals.

Co-founded by husband and wife Trey and Kimberly Azar, Seersucker Distillery, set on 6 acres of South Texas landscape, is located about 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Home of Southern Style Gin, the property includes a 5,000-square-foot distilling and bottling facility and tasting room that can accommodate groups of up to 70 standing or 40 seated. Team-building activities can include mixing cocktail concoctions and taking a guided tour of the distillery.

When it comes to planning events, planners must be choosy when determining the venue. Setting priorities like location, size, and technological capabilities sets them up for a successful event, but often forces them to weed out dozens of venues due to their limitations. Although sometimes, a venue comes along that provides the perfect location, high-speed technology, and much more without having to compromise.

Salado’s iconic Stagecoach Inn has opened a new event venue: Longhorn Ballroom.
