Atlantic City, N.J., Foodies rejoice: Come Oct. 15 to Dec. 3, you will have the opportunity to eat 50 morsels that Scott Cronick, food critic, Atlantic City Weekly declares everyone should eat in the city before they die.

The event, 50 Bites, gives participants the ability to eat 50 bites across 50 days for just $50. Cronick is slated to announce more details today. Providers include Gordon Ramsay’s Pub and Grille and Wolfgang Puck and such new restaurants as to newly Iron Room and Wingcraft Kitchen & Beer Bar. Local legends like White House Sub Shop and Knife & Fork also will be part of the event.

“Partnering with Atlantic City Weekly on this 50 Bites promotion fits in with our Atlantic City Restaurant Week mission,” says Larry Sieg, director of marketing, Casino Reinvestment Authority. “We continue to strive to get more visitors and locals to try all of the great restaurants and menu offerings that Atlantic City has to offer.”

The iconic Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas will soon welcome a new restaurant, Crown Block steakhouse. Reunion Tower restaurants have been renown over the years for their slowly rotating view of the city. However, owners and husband-wife business partners Kim Canteenwalla and Elizabeth Blau have chosen to keep the dining area stationary. The previous restaurant, Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty, spun 360 degrees, but it closed in 2020 during the pandemic.

 

In 2020, COVID-19 forced the early closure of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Last year, select events were held in person. But in 2022, the rodeo was back in full force as it celebrated its 90th anniversary. Successfully staging the largest rodeo in the world relies on the contributions of 35,000 volunteers.

 

Houston’s C. Baldwin hotel has debuted its event space: Parlour Hideaway. Located on the first floor of the hotel, it is accessible through a hidden door near the lobby. Accommodating intimate gatherings of up to 65 guests, Parlour Hideaway is available for event bookings only and not open to the public. Chef Chris Cosentino of the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Rosalie Italian Soul, created a new curated catering and drink menu exclusive to the space.
