• Edit Event Apps on the Go with EventMobi’s New Feature

Event apps are an intuitive part of event and conference experiences. Given the choice, why wouldn’t a planner take the time to compile attendee lists, schedules, maps and speaker information? Improvements in event apps are improvements in the overall experience of an event. EventMobi’s new Advanced Designer feature on its event apps gives event coordinators even more control over the look and branding of their apps, with the ability to match the app to event marketing lead. Any web or graphics designer with knowledge of CSS can edit the app’s shell, providing unprecedented customizability at a fraction of the cost of fully custom apps. 

“EventMobi was born of the idea to replace paper programs at events— they were cumbersome, wasteful and costly, and didn’t allow event planners to communicate last-minute changes to their attendees without reprinting the programs or adding addendums,” says Christine Otsuka, customer marketing manager, EventMobi. According to Otsuka, real-time editing meets the needs of busy event planners by eliminating these challenges. 

EventMobi’s app includes live polls, in-app discussion, optional gamification, networking and sponsors. Event organizers can “make edits from the road, in the off-hours, and most importantly, on-site at their event, and have those updates immediately reflected for attendees in the app,” says Otsuka. The design functionality is available as an add-on to EventMobi’s offering of products. After a year of growth that led to inclusion on Deloitte’s North American Technology Fast 500 list and the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in Canada, EventMobi hopes to empower planners through its modifiable app.

In 2020, Houston First Corp. (HFC) reported that the city was slated to host 252 meetings and 611,000 room nights. By March 14, the Bayou City had already hosted 115 conventions and 137,400 room nights. Then the pandemic hit, and meetings and events across the country came to a screeching halt.
