The Alamo Chapter of NACE held its 10th Annual President’s Gala in November 2015 at the beautiful Southwest School of Art in San Antonio. The theme of the event was “Bienvenue a Versailles: An Evening of French Elegance.” Guests enjoyed cocktails under the stars and fundraisers that included a Queen’s mystery tea cup auction, Marie’s mystery match game or croquet.

Once inside the Coates Chapel at the Southwest School of Art, guests were greeted by gorgeous tablescapes and floral displays fit for royalty.

Five past Alamo NACE presidents were honored. Four San Antonio industry leaders were celebrated: Caryn Hasslocher, Fresh Horizons Catering, Alamo NACE Caterer of the Year; Ron Peene, Cutting Edge Entertainment, Alamo NACE Event Professional of the Year; Stephanie Olivares, RK Group, Alamo NACE Rising Star; Traci Maricle, Ace Mart Restaurant Supply, Alamo NACE President’s Award.

The International Live Events Association (ILEA) Dallas Chapter spread some holiday cheer at its annual Holiday Giveback. The organization chose to work with Senior Source and the Diversicare facility. Members of the group held a party for the facility complete with caroling, live music, holiday crafts and bingo—and of course plenty of cookies and punch. The group also collected items for Diversicare’s wish list, along with a $5 donation from each member who registered for the networking happy hour that followed the party.

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Houston Area Chapter hosted the third annual “A Night Among the Stars” awards gala at the newly opened Marriott Marquis Houston. The 2018 honoree was Luther Villagomez, CEO of Houston First Corporation and manager of the George R. Brown Convention Center.
