Sustainable Food Center (SFC) raised $28,500 at its eighth annual Farm to Plate event this year, which took place May 14 at Barr Mansion. More than 30 local chefs participated, and all proceeds benefitted SFC’s not-for-profit programs, including four area farmers markets, organic food gardening classes, support for area farmers, cooking classes and nutrition education.
The International Live Events Association (ILEA) Dallas Chapter spread some holiday cheer at its annual Holiday Giveback. The organization chose to work with Senior Source and the Diversicare facility. Members of the group held a party for the facility complete with caroling, live music, holiday crafts and bingo—and of course plenty of cookies and punch. The group also collected items for Diversicare’s wish list, along with a $5 donation from each member who registered for the networking happy hour that followed the party.
