The Highland Dallas renovates its meeting space, adds a new catering menu and offers wellness options for groups.

Two award-winning departments of The Highland Dallas hotel have new group offerings for guests to enjoy. The boutique hotel has all-new catering menus designed by chef John Tesar of Knife, a reinvention of the steakhouse experience located in the hotel. Tesar has been nominated for three James Beard awards and was a contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef.

The new menu includes à la carte and bundled options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions and weddings, and also incorporates a variety of cuisine.

The All Access dinner buffet at $85 per guest includes both beet and arugula salads, handrolled penne pasta with black truffle essence, a chef’s selection of seasonal fish and seared flat iron, along with sides like creamed spinach and roasted shallots, mac and cheese with toasted bread crumbs and mini tarts and cakes. Plated dinner entrée options range from molasses brined grilled quail and harrisa braised lamb neck to a marinated pork chop with cheesy grits.

The Highland Dallas has also introduced wellness breaks and group experiences from its spa and boutique fitness studio, exhale. These sessions can take place in meeting rooms, board rooms or in exhale’s facilities, and accommodate up to 350 people. Planners can add chair massages, guided stretching, meditation and visualization, manicures and pedicures, acupuncture and ear seeding to meetings. Guests can also take part in Rise + Shine and Between Dinner + Reception sessions with yoga, fitness, stretching, barre, boot camp and more.

The Highland Dallas offers seven meeting rooms with more than 9,000 square feet of meeting space, all located on the second floor of the hotel with an open layout and pre-function space. The entire meeting space will be renovated during the first two weeks of January, adding more natural light and a view of SMU to the prefunction space.

South by Southwest (SXSW) returned live this year! The 35-year-old festival infuses on average $16-plus million of consumer spending into the Austin music scene over the course of nine days. The festival returned in March after its cancellation in 2020 and virtual show in 2021. Both the cancellation and virtual show were prompted by health and safety concerns due to the pandemic.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel has introduced a new outdoor event space under its new event programming, Dare to Outdoors. The hotel’s catering team has partnered with Pacific Plaza Park, a 3.7-acre green space in Downtown Dallas. The park features a 31,950 square-foot lawn space and permanent seating, as well as night-sky friendly lights for star-watchers. Three food truck power outlets are available and standard outlets are located throughout the park.
