Museum, hotel partnership promotes Texas culture

San Antonio is one of Texas’ top meeting and convention destinations—and now there is another great option for planners. Hotel Contessa has partnered with The Briscoe Western Art Museum to create a Texan experience for groups that want to incorporate local flavor into their meetings. The Briscoe is one the newest museums in San Antonio, located directly on the Riverwalk, and focuses on the art, history and culture of the American West through engaging exhibitions and educational programs reflective of the region’s rich traditions and heritage.

Canopy by Hilton Develops San Antonio River Walk

Canopy by Hilton, in a joint development between Crockett Urban Ventures and Merritt Development Group, plans to develop Canopy by Hilton San Antonio River Walk. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2018, the hotel will be managed by White Lodging Services.

“We are excited to work with entrepreneurial and forward-thinking developers,” says Chris Anderson, senior vice president and chief revenue office, White Lodging. “This will be an architectural wonder and a real destination until itself.”

$10 Million Renovation Planned for San Antonio’s Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

San Antonio’s Riverwalk is one of my favorite places to visit. Even if I’m in San Antonio for meetings, I always find time to stroll along the Riverwalk and take in the sites: a sidewalk café, a passing riverboat, public art glimpsed from under a Riverwalk bridge. Another favorite stop is Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. For the past 14 years of the boutique hotel’s operation, I’ve come to know its sleek and modern style—and this is all about to change. The hotel is being redesigned by internationally acclaimed architect and designer, Lauren Rottet.

Hotel Indigo Denver Set to Open Early 2017

Hotel Indigo Denver is set to open in Denver’s Union Station neighborhood in mid-January of 2017. It will be located at 1801 Wewatta Street and will have 180 guest rooms and 1,188 square feet of meeting and event space.

Choose A Suburban Venue For Conventions In Washington DC

Finding a venue is one of the first decisions a meeting planner makes. Its size and location can make a big impact on meeting attendance. The Sheraton Tysons Hotel—managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts—located outside of Washington, DC, is helping planners choose by offering a package for planners booking through 2020.

The Stella Hotel Slated To Open In March

The Stella Hotel, located in Bryan-College Station, Texas, is slated to open in March 2017. The 180,000-square-foot property will offer retail, restaurant and outdoor options, along with a 5-acre lake and 2 miles of hiking and biking trails.

Designed by FAB studio and Design DMU, the new luxury hotel will combine a modern design with the traditional aesthetic of the Texas countryside. The 176-room hotel will also have modern, luxurious amenities, with views of the Texas landscape, to create a calm and relaxing experience for their guests.
