Q Hotels Announces Plans for Marriott Hotel in South Arlington

Q Hotels has announced plans to develop a dual-branded Marriott hotel property in south Arlington, Tex. Construction is set to start this December and will finish in summer 2018. The combined SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites will have a total of 230 rooms.

Amenities include an event lawn entertainment space, a ballroom, an expanded fitness area, steam room, dry sauna and restaurant dedicated to healthy eating. The hotel is located 8 miles away from the DFW Airport and 3 miles south of the Arlington entertainment area.

Winery Adds a Tuscan Flare to Group Events

Texas Hill Country sunsets and beautiful views of rolling vineyards surrounding the Duchman Family Winery provide the perfect setting for a group event. The family-owned venue is located about 30 minutes southwest of downtown Austin and offers unique event spaces with a taste of Italian wine country.

Hilton Announced Newest Initiative at IMEX

IMEX America, an expo for the travel, meetings and events industry, took place in Las Vegas on Oct. 10–12. There, Hilton announced and launched their new initiative, WowMakers, which will help recognize the hardworking professionals in the hospitality industry.

The program is intended to celebrate the 100,000-plus professionals in the industry by sharing their stories and helping them connect with others in the business—giving them the recognition they deserve.

Omni Hotels & Resorts Announces Updates

Omni Hotels & Resorts is announcing new developments for the hotel. The 16-story hotel is set to open in June 2017, showcasing 300 guest rooms and suites, and 24,000 square-feet of meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. Additionally, Omni Hotels & Resorts has appointed Gayla Guyse as director of sales and marketing for the Omni Frisco Hotel. Guyse has 20 years of experience working for the Omni Frisco Hotel.
