• New Venue Spotlight: JW Marriott Austin

    FROM THE Summer 2015 ISSUE

Event space at the 34-story JW Marriott Austin is filling up fast, so get your name on the list.

The brand new JW Marriott Austin opened its doors on February 13, adding 1,012 guest rooms and 112,000 square feet of event space to Austin’s inventory. The 34-story hotel is the largest in the city, the largest JW Marriott in North America and the second largest JW Marriott in the world. Located in downtown Austin, the hotel is within walking distance to the Austin Convention Center and the Texas State Capitol.

The JW Marriott Austin offers 45 event rooms, including the 30,000-square-foot JW Grand Ballroom and 23,000-square-foot Lone Star Ballroom. The 23,000-square-foot Griffin Hall offers exhibit space for up to 135 8-by-10-foot booths. The hotel also offers full-service event management, 1 GB Internet bandwidth and three on-site restaurants, including the full-service Italian restaurant Osteria Pronto and Corner, which offers Texas-inspired cuisine and cocktails.

The hotel includes several nods to the spirit of Austin, including a state of Texas icon on the bottom of the pool. The building has achieved a LEED Silver certification and a two-star Austin Energy Green Building rating. Space has already been contracted through 2021, including for groups such as the South by Southwest Festival, Abila and the 4C Environmental Conference.

In 2021, the focus is on wellness. In Texas, there’s a spa for that.

The last two years have been, to put it mildly, challenging. Showing your team some appreciation for a job well done with a little spa pampering will allow them to relax and regroup together. Whether you’re looking to make a day, weekend or week of it, Texas has a spa retreat to suit your needs.
