As precisely plated seared foie gras graced with gooseberry and farro appeared, the table for 10 had a collective intake of breath. As if The French Room at The Adolphus, one of Dallas’ finest—and most famed—boutique hotels wasn’t captivating its guests already, the seven-course tasting menu from executive chef Anthony Dispensa became a revelation. 

Planners, sometimes you just need to pull out all the stops, right? And I strongly suggest you do so in the rarified plane above the honed marble floor and beneath the Italian Murano glass chandeliers of The French Room. The recipient of numerous awards and critical acclaim, the restaurant has hosted countless special dinners and milestone moments. 

While the menu draws on French culinary traditions and methodology, it sacrifices nothing for taste. 

Thoughtful wine pairings and tableside flourishes turn a meal into memories, especially when dinner begins with artisanal cocktails in the adjacent French Room Bar and includes a leisurely look at The French Room Salon’s curated collection of contemporary art. The 42-piece collection ranges from drawings and collages to photography and painting, all by artists with a deep tie to Texas.
