Sheraton Suites Houston, located in Uptown Houston near the Galleria and River Oaks District, is rebranding as The Chifley, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The rebrand includes renovations to 284 suite-style rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel will also feature a destination dining establishment, Rouse, offering an mix of craft cocktails and cuisine.
The name Chifley is inspired by the “schiffli” weaving process, which utilizes hundreds of needles to carefully stitch patterns into lace, reflecting the diverse culture and community in Houston. “The character of The Chifley will fit perfectly with Houston’s forward-thinking, independent spirit,” says Brett Orlando, managing director. “Guests who spend the night here will feel the energy and be able to soak in the culture of the area.”
Rouse will seat 76 in their main dining area and 50 at their bar and offer a fusion of barbecue, Mexican, and Asian cuisine. “Like The Chifley, Rouse will embrace all of our community’s cultures, with an infinite number of cuisine combinations so diners won’t have to settle for one flavor,” notes Orlando.
Renovations have begun and are expected to be completed in fall 2022. Driftwood Hospitality Management, a North Palm Beach-based hotel management company, will manage the property.
