Mark Yanke was recently appointed as the new president and managing director of The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel. As an experienced hospitality professional, Yanke is a welcome addition to this stunning hotel that is often referred to as the ‘jewel of Texas.'
Since graduating from Northwood University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Yanke has established over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Yanke served as Chairman on the Board of Governors and Trustees, and, in 2002, was awarded an honorary doctorate. His new position at The St. Anthony Hotel is sure to strengthen an already stellar career.
Yanke’s impressive resume showcases his ability to create successful environments at all of his past properties. Most recently, Yanke was the President and General Manager at the Hotel Emma in San Antonio. A 20-year run at Redstone includes positions as general manager, vice president, senior vice president, and managing director of The Houstonian Hotel. At Redstone, Yanke managed operations at The Houstonian Hotel; Club and Trellis Spa; Lakeway Resort and Spa; and The Redstone Companies' golf clubs: ShadowHawk Golf Club, The Houstonian Golf & Country Club, BlackHorse Golf Club, and Redstone Golf Club – home of the PGA TOUR Shell Houston Open.
Yanke has also served as a member of the Advisory Board for Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and has held several leadership positions that include: Chairman of Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chair of the Hotel and Lodging Association of Greater Houston. When Houston served as the host city for Super Bowl XXXVIII, it shouldn’t be surprising Yanke was a member of the Board of Directors. Yanke’s proven leadership and organizational qualities are only beat by his ability to increase sales and revenue at each of his properties.
Libby Nations will be joining The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel as the director of sales and marketing. As a highly sought after hospitality industry sales expert, Nations has lead the outstanding marketing campaigns of many respected establishments including the Sunriver Resort, Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, in addition to other entities under the Destination Hotels umbrella including Suncadia Resort and Skamania Lodge.
As a San Antonio native, Nations says “It feels good to be home in San Antonio and at The St. Anthony Hotel. I hope to continue the tradition of excellence to this shining jewel that has been a historical staple in this city for close to a century.”
As the new director of sales and marketing, Nation will be building innovative branding initiatives within the Entertainment and Lifestyle sectors of the travel industry to highlight the impressive St. Anthony Hotel team and The Luxury Collection Brand. Despite a recent renovation, The St. Anthony Hotel has kept the hotel’s iconic beauty intact. Nations extensive experience will be invaluable to the properties new offerings of rooms, suites, event space, and dining programs.
With more than 20 years of experience under her belt, Nation’s resume includes stints with Hilton, Hyatt, Dolce International, Destination Hotels, Omni, Preferred Hotels and Independent hotels. Her local knowledge and national experience is an invaluable addition to The St. Anthony Hotel for many years to come.
