The Freedom to Do What you Want at Cuba Libre

One of the phrases that my mother often utters is "kill two birds with one stone." She’s far from violent. Instead, she is highly organized and is the embodiment of a multi-tasker. Like mother, like daughter. I love nothing better than getting two things done at once and just last week I managed to do just that. I interviewed a terrific Philadelphia personality (stay tuned to read that fun interview in our fall issue) and rediscovered a terrific event space. Our interview just so happened to be a lunch meeting at Cuba Libre.

FIREWORKS for the Fourth of July, sure. But what about a company picnic, employee appreciation banquet or corporate logo reveal? Yes. Yes. And yes, says Randy Beckham, president and founder of Pyrotex.

Discover the Solutions to Humdrum Soirees

THE HOTTEST, MOST UNUSUAL ENTERTAINMENT IN THE COUNTRY CAN BE FOUND RIGHT HERE IN TEXAS. Extraordinary entertainers are the solution to humdrum soirees and lackluster socials, but discovering them requires the answer to one little question: Does your client need a keynote speaker, emcee or graffiti artist? This probably doesn’t even seem like a valid query-at least not one you ask yourself often-but it can make you think twice about what your client really needs. And it can lead to some really exciting events.

FUNNY BUSINESS

Gruene Historic District Brings History Into the Modern Age

TUCKED INTO Texas Hill Country- with Austin to the north, San Antonio to the south and Houston to the east-lies a charming burg with a water tower rising high above streets lined with historic buildings. This tower, a balancing act of steel, water and wire, serves as a beacon of sorts, welcoming visitors long before their feet touch down.

Science and History Museums Offer Knowledge and Thrills

I WANT TO WOW MY GUESTS. This is often one of the first things clients tell an event planner, so it’s always a great idea to have an arsenal of options already on hand.

Selecting a venue that is unique and nontraditional is key to fulfilling a client’s needs, and the right space will get guests excited and engaged. Science and history museums offer a score of benefits in one breathtaking package. From towering replicas to interactive exhibits, science and history museums lend a one-of-a-kind backdrop to practically any type of event.
